Wood-fired at 850°

Our oven came from Naples in pieces. Pizzas bake in about 90 seconds, blistered and soft in the middle the way Rosa likes them.

Pasta made every morning

Rigatoni, trofie and spaghetti are rolled and cut by hand before we open. The Sunday gravy simmers for six hours.

Family-run since 1987

Rosa still tastes every pot of sauce. Her son runs the oven, her daughter runs the front, and the grandkids fold the pizza boxes.

Our story

About Rosa's Trattoria

Rosa opened our little trattoria on Atwells Avenue in 1987 with three tables, a borrowed oven and her grandmother’s recipes from Naples. The neighborhood kept coming back for the Sunday gravy, and the three tables became thirty.

Today her kids run the kitchen, but not much else has changed: the pizza dough still rises for 48 hours, the meatballs are still rolled by hand, and the tiramisu is still made from Rosa’s own notebook.

Order ahead for pickup, let us bring dinner to you, or come in and say hello — Rosa is usually at the corner table with an espresso.

Order online and skip the wait — usually ready in about 20 minutes. Come by 214 Atwells Avenue.

$3.99 delivery fee, $20.00 minimum. We deliver within about 3 miles of Federal Hill.

Questions & answers

Where do I park?
There's free street parking on Atwells Avenue after 6 PM and a paid lot behind the building on Dean Street. For pickup, call us from the curb and we'll run your order out.
Do you cater parties and office lunches?
Yes! Half and full trays of any pasta, meatballs by the dozen, salads and cannoli platters. Give us 48 hours' notice for orders over 20 people and call (401) 555-0142 to plan it with us.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Our salads and the affogato are gluten-free, and we can make any pasta with gluten-free penne (please ask in the order notes). Our kitchen uses a lot of flour, so we can’t promise zero cross-contact.
Can I order for later today or another day?
Of course. At checkout choose "Schedule for later" and pick a time up to three days ahead. We start cooking so it’s hot right at your time.
Is there a delivery area?
We deliver to Federal Hill, Downtown, the West End, the East Side and Elmwood (ZIP codes 02903, 02904, 02906, 02908 and 02909). The fee is $3.99 and the minimum order is $20.
Do you sell gift cards?
Gift cards are available at the counter in any amount. They never expire.
